| My jersey on TV
So the Puerto Rico-Rochester game from last night is on Fox Soccer Channel and there's the orange Islanders jersey I bought, being worn by the visiting side. Feeling good about that. NOT feeling good about the confusing construction/traffic flow on Royal Brougham Way between Qwest and Safeco. Hey construction worker lady -- does it feel good to be rude to confused motorists trying to navigate that mess? Here's a plan -- have someone out there to direct traffic at least 3 hours before a game. Then I saw a father and son walking to the game together in rave green jerseys. Made me think of my pop, love you Dad. I'm here at the stadium now, gotta go to my radio appearance over at Jimmy's on First, come by and say hello! -Jose .
Peabody Hotshots U14 girls win girls soccer state title
The Hotshots won their second Massachusetts Tournament of Champions state soccer title, this time at the U14 Division 1 level. Coach Silvio Albano's Hotshots are old pros at reaching this lofty level, making their third trip to MTOC in the last four years. Two years ago, this same group of girls won the MTOC at the U12 level; in 2006 they made it to the Final Four. The Peabody team won the Division 1 Essex County championship at the Pingree School two weeks ago to earn a trip to Amherst. "The winning streak is a tribute to their versatility and high level of contributions — far beyond expectations. It's been unbelievable," Albano said. "This group of girls is truly spectacular: they've made soccer history in Peabody by winning the states twice." The way the season began, Albano had his doubts about how successful the season would be.
Kendeigh's Corner
This would be a perfect opportunity for local soccer fans to step up and make your presence felt. The Wave will not exist without a new owner, and a new owner will not buy a team with dwindling fan support. All this with the backdrop of the Milwaukee Mile in peril. So, it's up to you Milwaukee sports fans. Are you up to the task? Or will you say goodbye to the longest running indoor soccer team in the USA and a staple on the PGA Tour. It's up to you. .
