| Middletown grad finds his calling coaching soccer
The game that Zovistoski loves so much: soccer. Zovistoski, a star goalkeeper at Middletown High in the late-1980s, had a part-time club coaching gig that took up weekends and some nights after working the floor. However, now, he had an offer — far less paying — to coach soccer full-time. This was back in 2000. "I took it, the only difficulty was the financial unknown," Zovistoski says. "I left (Lehman Brothers) on good terms, I could have went back, but it was a leap. But I looked at it that I loved soccer, I had a passion for it, and I needed a lifestyle change." Almost a decade later, Zovistoski, 38, has established himself as one of the top club coaches in the Midwest. He has been named the Region 2 (Midwest) Coach of the Year. That award comes after Zovistoski was named the Illinois Youth Soccer Coach of the Year by state coaches.
Men's soccer ranked tenth for upcoming season
The Dartmouth men's soccer team β following an appearance in the Sweet Sixteen at the 2008 NCAA Championships β rounds out the top 10 teams nationally in a preseason poll by College Soccer News. Midfielder and captain Craig Henderson '09, who will return for a final season in the fall, was selected to the preseason All-American team. Both Henderson and head coach Jeff Cook said that, although the rankings provide recognition for past efforts, what happens during the season is most important to the team. βTo be honest, preseason rankings don't mean much for us," Henderson said. Although Cook said he doesn't generally look at rankings, he added that the Big Green has not gotten the recognition the team feels it deserves over the past several years. Henderson, who will play this coming season after missing his sophomore season due to an injury, is one of the best collegiate players in the country, Cook said.

My brother used to play soccer and his friend Troy Lesesne is who I looked up to; the way he played is how I tried to model myself after while I'm in high school soccer." He looks forward to: "I can't say easy classes because I'm not taking any; I've still got a tough schedule next year. I look forward to the playoffs, when every time I step on the field I know it could be the last time." Last movie he saw: "The Watchmen. I know that came out a long time ago, but once soccer season starts everything else slows down, like going to the movies." His summer job: "I worked at AGAPE Senior last year and I might go back there. Or I might go to Brunches, my favorite restaurant." Best advicehe has received: "Play for what's on the front of the jersey, not what's on the back.
