Students learn from former or current professional soccer players from the United Kingdom. The program, based in Lenexa, Kan., was founded by a former professional British soccer player. They now hold camps all over the country. This is the second year the camp has come to Springfield. Where: Lake Country Soccer, 2334 Pythian St. Dates: July 27-31 Time: Varies depending on age group, but all times are between 9 a.m.-noon or 5 p.m.-8 p.m. each day. Westfield soccer tournament to benefit children's hospital
When Myron Vaughn took over as Westfield High School boys soccer coach two years ago, he began thinking of a way he and his team could give back to the community. Next weekend, the Shamrocks will host the first Shamrock Charity Challenge. Proceeds will benefit Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent. .
